Coming Soon!

 In the coming months I plan on changing the font from script to a more eye friendly one. The goal was to do something different from other blogs. I always strive to be unique, but hopefully not so boring to any reader who dares to venture here. When I see the number of visitors to my blog, I am happy and amazed that there are a few people who find my blogs interesting enough to read. I have to thank everyone who gave some of their time to read my blogs. It's really appreciated. I can imagine the cursive fonts aren't easy to follow. If the font was made after a human hand, I have to say that they really don't have good handwriting skills. (This is where I'd put a laughing Emoji)

I do plan to post pictures of the islet once I am able to get to it.  The goal is to anchor the Auset Fronds to a tree until I can construct a small dock for it, which would allow me to easily climb on to the bank of the islet. The land is located somewhere on the Ogeechee River. It's brackish water, consisting of many tree limbs. The body of water between where we are and where Mernah Islet is located is called Club Lake. I'm suspecting that the Ogeechee River runs on the other side of Mernah Islet.

Pinching!

I finished tying down the  "Noodles"  on the bow (front) of the boat. Tomorrow I'll tie down the rest of the"Noodles" that's on the stern (back) of the boat. I'm still adding more adhesive here and there. The "Noodles" are still sticking up, resisting the stress placed on them. Stepping back, what I'm doing really feels surreal.

Finally Moving Forward!

 Yesterday I finally took the boat out the backyard so I could start working on making a deck for her. What I worked on today was removing the stuffing I packed the boat with. The material, (frond leaves) that I stuffed the boat with was totally unnecessary because the model boat I made totally out of fronds floated extremely well. I was so happy that I finally made the model, after months of trying out different techniques. I went back to the basic fronds and wood glue to construct the model. I had two little helpers who assisted me in testing the model on a small pond. i was so elated that the model float as well as it did. I have to say I'm actually not behind schedule in the launch date for The Auset Fronds. Constructing the boat's deck is the fun part because there's so many things I plan to do to the boat in the completion of building her. I've even found a company that is going to assist me in the patent process. They were really impressed with what I'm doi

Little Bits!

.I was able to work on the boat over the weekend. I decided to loosen the binds on both ends of the boat. Hopefully the fronds will stay upright. I attached the fronds at the bow with some metal I made into fasteners. I'm plan on doing the same thing to the fronds at the stern of the boat. In order for me to be able to straighten the fronds at each end, I had to raise the boat higher. The next thing is to add more glue in order to seal all the fronds in place, which will strengthen the hull over all. A rubber sealant will then be applied once all the fronds on the outside of the hull is rock solid.
