It's Been A Long Time!

I've been recovering from neck surgery, so things have been almost at a stand still, but through it all I'm finally adding deck rails to the boat. I also started working on the pedal mechanism. I added separators to the middle section where the mechanism is going to be placed. I'm currently trying to figure out how the mechanism should be mounted. I eventually have to document  the steps I took in constructing the boat. The boat has gained a lot of weight, which makes it no longer possible for me to lift it like I was able to before. I have to say that the boat is really coming along nicely. The Auset Fronds sister boat will be much easier to build, since I now knows what works, and what doesn't. I'm striving to make the boat much more uniform and sturdy. I brought some Urethane. originally for the dog houses to protect them from the elements. I realized that I can apply the Urethane to the fronds of the boat.So Now the boat is looking quite shinny.  So many ideas come to mind anytime I work on the boat. I'm discovering  that the fronds I added to the left side of the middle section, was totally unnecessary. Removing the fronds from that area made it possible to add a biter where the fronds were removed, making the boat more uniform looking. Now the boat looks even on both sides.
There's been a lot of improvements on the techniques I was experimenting with in building the boat. Stability is everything when an object has to float on water that consist of different parts. If those parts aren't well put together, then it will be easy for them to come apart with the slightest pressure on them.  I imagine having  to read how someone built something from the ground up is pretty boring, not to forget to mention probably down right confusing. They say "a picture speaks a thousand words," which is the reason why I post  photos of what I'm doing as much as possible.
