Enforced Reinforcements!

I brought the frame of the Mobile Boat Cradle inside the house  and managed to put  the clamps on. They still need to be tight enough for the frame to withstand the pressures that's going to be placed on it. That includes not coming apart when being bounced around while being moved from one place to another. Even  falling from this upright position, it must stay intact.

Total Make Over!

 The Auset Fronds is getting a make over. It's like getting  liposuction to remove all of the excess fat that has built up over time. The Auset Fronds will be more like a true boat, than a raft. The boat will have 21 fronds instead of 11, which will make the boat wider than she previously was. I also removed the fangs that's found on the fronds, to eliminate the gaps that separates them when they are laid next to each other. I'm also only using construction strength adhesive this time, to glue the fronds together, and the boat will be built  using fronds only.  Building the boat this way, cuts down on wasting the adhesive, and unnecessary layering. Once I join the bow and stern ends together, I will reinforce the joined ends to strengthen the center of the hull.

She's A Beautiful Thing!

 Now that I have the form that I wanted, keeping the boat in one piece has actually been accomplished. I'm still strengthening areas that needs more adhesive and weight. The Auset Fronds has gotten quite heavy, and will need to be placed on a boat cradle that has wheels. I'm in the process of building up the sides. Getting the boat to Ta Em hopefully won't be an ordeal. She just might be too heavy to load on to  my truck. Floating the Auset Fronds on the lake will be so exciting to me. Patience is a real virtue to have when feeling impatient.
