It's A Beautiful Thing!
I did a lot of measuring today. I must get technical now about how I am designing this boat! The most important thing is this boat is able to float. The boat has to be able to handle the weight it will be subjected to. The boat must be very sturdy for the demands that will be placed on it. I'm working with thicker and wider fronds now. They are going to be used for creating a deck. I'm also going to add railing as well so the boat will look less like a raft. I'm really happy with the direction this project is going. I need more fronds for the deck and I've been getting them from my dwarf palm tree in my back yard. From now on everything will be glued into place. I wanted to have some idea of the placement of the fronds to create the deck. The underside of the hull I'm thinking about using thinner pieces of fronds to finish the bottom of the hull and short thicker fronds to strengthen the sides of the boat! I was able to figure out how it will be done, so it's just a matter of when I'll be able to buy the glue.
