Apart!

Image
Taking apart the stand was really easy. I just had to unscrew the crossbars. Creating a carriage for The Auset Fronds is a different story. We had some rain so working out doors wasn't possible with the ground being damp. Hopefully it will be sunny and dry on my day off so I can work on putting together the boat carriage.

Future Boat Carriage Platform!

Image
I found this steel metal frame that looks like it was a fold up chair. The good thing is that it has screws in it that is holding it together. I'm going to take this frame apart and rearrange it into a platform the boat can rest on. I seen some wheels at Home Depot I can possibly use to add to the platform. I'm using mostly organic materials to build the Auset Fronds. Somethings I had to make because I just wasn't able to find anything like I pictured. Everything I'm doing, I can see how things comes together by just looking at them. I know it's important to document building projects by writing papers and journal publications. I'm not familiar with a lot of the technical terminology that describes the process in building this boat, but the photos tells the story of how I did it.

First Paddles Wheel!

Image
I made the first wheel that consists of 5 paddles. I used some fan blades I found walking my dog Dahlia. One of the blades is actually a misfit. I found it laying on the ground at another location. The misfit is thicker and a bit shorter than the blades I found together still in their .  packaging. I think the misfit is a better choice to use for a paddle. The wheel the blades are attached to came from a discarded room fan.

The Auset Fronds!

I was able to soften up the sealant so I could apply it to the last 2 "Noodles" that wasn't all the way bonded. Where the "Noodles" are located allowed the boat to lay on them when it is sitting on it's bottom.

Hopeful!

We  been having really cold weather lately. My sealant was pasty thick instead of the syrupy fluid texture due to the temperature drop. I'm hoping that warning up the sealant will return it to the syrupy fluid it normally is.

Snowed!

Image
Two days ago we had what I considered a snow storm. Reason being it doesn't normally snow like it did. If I would have shown what the boat looked like after it first stopped snowing, it would have been a much prettier picture than this one. Having a garage would be nice when the weather isn't suitable to work outside.
