So Little Time!

Image
I used to be able to spend 8 hours working on my boat. The quandary is in order for me to build it I need money to buy the things I need to use in its construction. I brought some zip ties and I'm using them to tied down the"Noodles!" I added more adhesive to the "Noodles." Hopefully the "Noodles" will bond better with them being tied down.

Resistance!

I brought three bubble bottles and I inserted them into the"Noodles!" I also rearranged the color scheme of the handles, skipping two of the same colors by Inserting another color in between them. Unfortunately the "Noodles"on the stern side isn't bonding well on one end! So I'm going to have to strap them down with some ties. I was only able to find one of the cooling freezer sticks and these sticks I plan on inserting into the middle to the other end of the"Noodles." I thought I had a few of them. I probably will nave to go buy some if I can't find the ones I'm looking for! I think I'll go to my local Goodwill and see what they may have.

The adhesive is bonding the "Noodles" better now since adding a lot more than I was doing. I've inserted plastic bubble bottles I've found, into the "Noodles!" I'm using them for added buoyancy, but I have to say I like the visual effects of the plastic bubble bottle handles sticking out the ends of the "Noodles." It would be nice if I can find a lot more of the plastic bubble bottles lying around discarded outside after the kids were done playing with them! Not recycling these bottles aren't good for the environment if they wind up in the landfill. I'm thinking inserting plastic bottles through the length of the "Noodles," would make the boat more buoyant. I'm going to need a lot more plastic bubble bottles and I'll probably wind up buying them from the dollar store where I brought the"Noodles" from.

Industrializing!

I discovered that I was absolutely right about not adding the correct amount of adhesive! Anything that is  built to last must have industrial strength. So I must approach this project from an industrial point of view.

Try! Try! Try Again!

I realized I wasn't being generous enough in applying the adhesive. The adhesive had to be proportional to the thickness and width of the materials that you want to bond together. The adhesive becomes very rubbery after it dries. Adding the right amount of glue or adhesive will Imsure that the materials are bonded together well. I have to fight the urge to play around with ideas that will pop up, when I'm trying to solve issues that I'm having problems with. I have to keep telling myself 'leave it the way it is' because I be wanting  to do something totally different instead of working towards improving what I already have done.

Overturned!

I was able to turn the boat over using the fish tank stand as a lever which enabled me to lay the boat on top of it.

Turning the boat over!

Aftermath!.

I turned the boat over and  prepared it for hurricane Irma. I doubt the boat would have remained intact if the hurricane was a category 2 like hurricane Mathews was a year ago. Fortunately for us, the hurricane turned I.To a tropical storm when it reached Georgia. I'm getting ready to turn the boat back over again so I can finish securing the " Noodles" onto the bottom of the hull! The boat sits up nice and high which is an add plus besides the boat being buoyant.  I

Keeping It Together!

A storm is supposed to be heading our way. I'm not sure if I'll find this boat in pieces or shown floating amongst debris. All I can do is wrap her tightly in plastic and hope for the best. Hopefully I won't have to start all over from scratch.

"Noodles!"

I checked on how the adhesive was drying. I was told that the adhesive took awhile to dry! I hope it don't rain because moisture stops the adhesive from drying thoroughly. So far things are looking good.

Loosies!

The weather was very pleasant today. There's clear skies with plenty of sunshine. I had to apply more adhesive to three "Noodles" again. I'm thinking moisture is the reason for the adhesive taking so long to dry. Hopefully the dry air will help in the drying process. Before I can begin adding the rubber coating, everything have to be well bonded.
